NURSING LABORATORIES

Nursing Foundation Laboratory:

It is a patient simulator. Nursing is an art and science that needs a lot of practice. The Nursing Foundation lab is the practical area of the students, where they perform all nursing procedures prior to the exposure to the clinical field. The faculty uses the lab for various demonstrations of procedures in nursing. This spacious laboratory is well equipped with patient simulator, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation mannequin, life form hand simulation, etc. in addition to the facilities in real ward situation. There are 9 manikins in the CKRD memorial nursing lab for human simulation use by faculty to teach students how to administer care to patients. All the manikins are laid on the bed with appropriate pedicel equipment attached to them. Fundamental lab is designed foruse as a tool for teaching psychomotor skilIs and cognitive and critical thinking pathways. Nursing Foundation offers the ability to provide simulation education to challenge and test students clinical and decision-making skills during realistic patient care scenarios. Nursing Foundation lab is extremely realistic and flexible to meet multi-disciplinary education needs of the nursing students.

Community Health Nursing (CHN) Laboratory:

This laboratory is equipped with latest articles and equipment and is used by students to practice bag technique required for family health care and prepare the materials needed for health education, school health program me, health camps, exhibitions and projects. CHN lab focuses on principles and methods of community health nursing , roles Page | 20 and responsibility of the nurse in the community and the development and community service management community administration principle, primary health care health nursing experience is provide to the students in government health centers, concerning survey, health problem analysis, and solving community health promotion and prevention services, school health service, sanitation and environmental service. Health teaching and educational visit to various health agencies are provided. Adequate transportation facilities are also available.

Nutrition Laboratory:

Nutrition laboratory is primarily focused on assessing the inter play between diet and cardiovascular and other disease risk factors. Lifestyle behaviours, especially diet, can have a significant effect on the risk of developing heart disease. Major components of diet that can potentially alter his risk include type of fat, level of fat, type of protein, individual fatty acids and food-associated compounds. The efforts of the nutrition lab are aimed at developing a better understanding of how diet alters cardiovascular and other disease risk factors, especially in other women and men. The Nutrition laboratory is where the students learn to prepare normal and therapeutic diet. Students learn to prepare different types of exhibits for health education related to Nutrition and diet therapy. Under the guidance of a qualified dietitian, they learn to prepare normal diet and therapeutic diet for various disease conditions without losing nutrients. Students also use this lab to prepare different types of exhibits required to conduct various health educational Programs.

OBG Laboratory:

The OBG nursing skills lab will provide students with an additional learning resource to meet their educational goals. The lab will be equipped with instructional videos and Page | 21 DVDs, supplies and equipment, as well as practice manikins including Full body Pregnancy Simulator, obstetric manikin, pelvic models, Ultrasonography simulator (Biometric and Gynaecology) as well as high fidelity childbirth simulator. The lab will provide students with a realistic, simulated clinical environment to practice and demonstrate competency of selected nursing skills.

Paediatrics Laboratory:

This lab will be equipped with the paediatric mannequins, various models to manage normal and emergency situation of child health. Laboratory shall have more than 300 articles to demonstrate the procedures to the students related child health care. It will help to provide modern child health care techniques and develop skill in carrying out and assisting various paediatric procedures.

Advance Nursing Skill Lab:

There shall be simulators used teach, practice & learn advance skills e.g., administration of tube- feeding, tracheostomy, gastrostomy etc. I/V injection, BLS, new born resuscitation model, etc. The lab shall have computers, internet connection, monitor used in Critical Care Units.

Computer Laboratory :

Our air-conditioned computer lab is well suited and designed with latest computers with world class software enabling the students to match the pace of the world around them. All computer units share local area network.

Pre-Clinical Science Laboratory :

Pre-clinical Science lab provides comprehensive knowledge of microbiology, anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. This lab is designed with excellent infrastructure, equipped with various specimens, models, slides and charts. Therefore, the students can have more understanding related to the structure and physiological process of various organs and systems of the human body. This lab also helps in developing deeper knowledge and skills among the students which will help them applying it on clinical and theoretical grounds.

Hostel :

The hostel facility is also available with suitable accommodation for boys and girls separately. The rooms are well furnished to make the stay of inmates for learning community living and facilitating out of class discussions on assignments. The inmates of the hostel get invigorating environment for constant interaction among themselves leading to their personality development all basic facilities are available in hostel.

Classrooms

Class Room:

A group of people coming together to learn a common subject or topic under the guidance of an instructor is called a class. The people taking the instructions are called students or pupil and the place where the instruction takes place is called the classroom.

Library Room:

There is a separate library for the college. It is easily accessible to the teaching faculty and the students. Library have seating arrangements for adequate students for reading and having good lighting and ventilation and space for stocking and displaying of books and journals. There are sufficient number of cupboards, book shelves and racks with glass doors for proper and safe storage of books, magazines, journals, newspapers and other literature

Teachers Room:

Also known as the staff room or faculty lounge – is one of the most important rooms for educators. The teachers’ room is the place where staff can relax before or after class, eat lunch, grab a coffee, spend recess, consult with colleagues, plan lessons, discuss educational issues and socialize.
